We welcomed Damian Moore, Member of Parliament for Southport to our new offices on Corporation Street, in what was formerly Christ Church School. A building sensibly restored; keeping most of the exterior original and salvable structures and at the same time, introducing a contemporary design with modernist interior features, befitting the young demographics working within Techedia.
The meeting expanded beyond the cosmetics of bringing up the mammoth task of an abandoned building. Discussions were had on how best to look into the future and set a progressive vision for a town like Southport. These visions look to transform Southport into a Tech Industry town; training and retaining a new generation of IT specialists, and largely increasing productivity through innovation and technology. It is no longer enough for the town to rely on tourism and hospitality if it is not brought into the 21st century and Techedia is at the forefront of this, located right in the centre of this historic resort.
Damian Moore shared and supported Techedia’s founder Matt Townson’s vision to diversify the local economy through the growth of a creative, tech and digital sector.
